Revocable Living Trusts
Revocable Living Trusts offer a more sophisticated planning tool for clients who wish to minimize the burden to administer their estate after death. Revocable Living Trusts are a popular alternative wills as they keep Courts out of the administration of estates after death.
This option is recommended for clients with property in multiple states or who are likely to move out-of-state. It is also often recommended by financial planners who want to minimize future costs and expenses to families.
Emergency Wills
We reserve limited space in our practice to take on emergency Wills for clients who are undergoing medical procedures or leaving the country. We always advise planning when there is no crisis so that we can move at a deliberate pace.
For emergency planning situations, it is absolutely necessary that the person signing documents have the capacity to understand their family relationships and be aware of their assets. We will respectfully decline any client who we determine does not have sufficient capacity to act.
We will respectfully decline any emergency planning that could be perceived by other heirs as manipulation of the client in a moment of distress.
